Basic Knowledge of Painting for Beginners - Page 2

Four: Under Coating
For a professional look on your walls, use primer as an under coat before painting the walls. It will make your paint go much more even and would not taint against the color from the previous wall paint. In addition, this coating can provide an extra protection to your new paint, making it more durable and much easier to adhere on the wall surface.

Five: Watch Out for Damaged Walls
Uneven surface, holes and cracks are like traps to your project but there is nothing you should worry about. They can be fixed easily by sanding and drywalls kits that are available in the market. Just be sure to detect the damages and fix them day before you paint, as you will need time for the drywall plaster to dry and then sand down any uneven area.

Six: Other Conditions
When it is time for you to paint, let a plenty of sunshine to light up the room. You have to see where you are painting and where you might have missed. Technically, use only even strokes all around the wall to get an even coating. Also, prepare a few pieces of old rags, in case if any mistakes happen.

Seven: Leftover Paint
Usually we will not use up all the paint and we can keep it for any future needs such as for fixes or touch ups. Since the paint containers can be large and waste your storage space, pour the leftovers into some glass jars and seal them up tightly. Not to forget, labeling them with the paint code, used date and room that were used in.

Now, you have enough knowledge to change the way your home interior look, painting it doesn't have to be this scary anymore.
